Day 6: No Days Off 🏃‍♀️

Day 6: No Days Off 🏃‍♀️

6:30 AM, and I’ve just wrapped up another easy morning run. Three laps around the island, covering 4.62 kilometers in 26 minutes and 44 seconds. My average pace was 5:47 per kilometer, with a heart rate of 134 bpm. Interestingly, my legs felt a little fresher than yesterday, even with the long fast since lunch the day before. Although I skipped dinner again, this time I felt just a bit more energized, but I’ll keep an eye on how this pattern affects my stamina in the days ahead.

Running on an empty stomach is an adjustment, and I’m finding that the lack of variety in meal options on the island is making dinner less appealing. I’ve been opting for breakfast instead, hoping a bit of change in my routine might keep me going strong. But if I don’t see improvement soon, it might be time to work dinner back in.

Reflecting on today’s run, I realize that this 30-day challenge is shaping up to be about much more than just hitting running milestones. The true essence seems to lie in developing consistency and commitment. There’s no flashy outcome at the end of these short morning runs—it’s just the act of showing up, day after day. The lesson here is simple: improvement isn’t possible without consistency. Whether it’s running, work, or personal growth, showing up every day builds a foundation for success. Michael Phelps, for instance, spent 5 years without missing a single day of workout—that kind of dedication has a clear message.

To finish, I’d like to send a heartfelt thought to my girlfriend, to whom I’m incredibly grateful. I can’t wait to be back home with her in a few months, sharing the moments that make it all worthwhile!

Thanks for following along—see you tomorrow for Day 7.
