Day 24: 10K On Tired Legs 🔟
This morning at 4:57 AM, I laced up and headed out for the longest distance of this challenge so far: 10 kilometers. It’s likely this will remain the longest run of the 30 days, as I’m starting to feel the fatigue set in, especially in my legs. Despite the soreness, I’m pretty happy with the performance overall. My aerobic system feels solid, and I’m comfortable running at a steady pace.
What stands out the most about longer runs, though, is how they affect the mind. Somewhere past the 45-minute mark, you hit that flow state — thinking, but not really thinking. Often, you go into a run with a lot on your mind, but by the end, it feels like a mental reset. Today was one of those days.
A big part of what’s been on my mind is my girlfriend. With just under four weeks until I see her again, she’s been a source of constant motivation. She inspires me to be better in every aspect of life, and I’m incredibly grateful to have her by my side.
Stats for Today’s Run:
- Distance: 10.05 km
- Average Pace: 6:04 min/km
- Total Time: 1:00:59
- Average Heart Rate: 136 bpm
- Sleep Score: 79 (7h 13m)
- VO2 Max: 53
- Endurance Score: 6230
This week has also been my longest week in terms of total distance: 41.7 km. Over the last four weeks, I’ve been averaging 4.6 km daily and 32.3 km weekly, so the gradual increase feels good.
Six days left in the challenge! It’s exciting to approach the final stretch, and I’m starting to reflect on what’s next. More rain is expected this week, but the runs will continue.
Hope your weekend was great.
Peace, pace.
