Day 2: Getting Out the Door 🏃♂️
All right, here we are—Day 2 of my 30-day running challenge! Initially, I thought I might just post weekly updates. But as I was running today, I figured, why not turn this into a daily log? Each run brings its own small challenges and reflections, so a quick daily update feels right.
The Morning Struggle:
Today’s run almost didn’t happen. I overslept after a rough night of sleep. My sleep data doesn’t lie; it was a pretty poor night. Maybe, just maybe, the daily running will help improve my sleep as well.
Run Stats:
- VO2 Max: 51 (dropped from 52)
- Endurance Score: 5708 (will explain in another post)
- Duration: 24 minutes, 50 seconds
- Pace: 6:05 per kilometer
- Average Heart Rate: 140 bpm
I ran about five minutes longer than yesterday but at a slower pace. My heart rate was a bit lower, so I felt okay. No injuries, no issues, just showing up and getting it done.
The Real Challenge:
The hardest part of running is simply lacing up and getting out the door. It doesn’t matter how you feel before a run—afterward, it’s always worth it. You feel accomplished, no matter what.
I still don’t have a specific end goal for this challenge, but each day is already starting to give me a little more clarity. Writing these posts is becoming part of the challenge, too—a way to track progress and improve my blogging. Setting small goals along the way makes it easier to stay motivated, and who knows? Each one might build toward the next big challenge.
That’s it for Day 2. Let’s see where this journey takes us!
