Day 18: Monday Morning šŸŒž

šŸ“Š Stats for the Day

  • Distance: 3.6 km
  • Pace: 6:41 min/km
  • Heart Rate: 126 BPM
  • Duration: 24:03 minutes
  • Sleep Score: 85
  • VO2 Max: 53
  • Endurance Score: 6184

This morning was all about keeping the streak alive with an easy recovery run. Honestly, it wasnā€™t much of a run for performance improvementsā€”more of a ā€œcheck it off the listā€ kind of effort. My ankles felt stiff starting out, but by the time I wrapped it up at the 20-minute mark, things felt better.

The pace was deliberately slow, and while it took some time to loosen up, I enjoyed the simplicity of getting out early. At this point, though, the monotony of running the same tiny island loop every day is starting to feel more mentally challenging than the physical runs themselves. For me, running is so much about exploring new places, and being stuck in this repetitive environment removes that aspect entirely.

But with only 12 days left, Iā€™m focused on incorporating more variety through tempo and speed work to keep things fresh. After all, I canā€™t magically create more land to run on here!

šŸ’” Thoughts on Supplements

Lately, Iā€™ve been thinking about the role of supplements in running and overall fitness. Optimization has always been an interest of mineā€”whether itā€™s improving processes or performance. If I had to choose one supplement thatā€™s made the most noticeable difference, it would be electrolytes.

Given the hot and humid conditions in the Maldives, staying properly hydrated and fueled is critical. Iā€™ve noticed a significant boost in performance when Iā€™m on top of my hydration. This got me researching yesterday, looking into different electrolyte products and how they work.

When I return home at the end of the year, Iā€™d love to experiment with creating my own electrolyte mixā€”something tailored to my needs. Who knows? Maybe this could turn into a future product. Itā€™s an exciting idea to explore further, and it feels like a natural extension of my interest in endurance and optimization.

šŸƒ Future Dreams

On a lighter note, I found myself daydreaming about what it would be like to run across America. Picture this: an epic journey in a big autocmaper with my girlfriend and future kids. Running through iconic landscapes, making memories as a familyā€”doesnā€™t that sound amazing?

Perhaps Iā€™m thiunking about future family dreams because itā€™s my girlfriendā€™s birthday. šŸŽ‰ Happy birthday to her! Iā€™m so grateful for her support and canā€™t wait to spend more time together.

Stay hydrated and keep chasing your goals.

Enjoy your Monday! šŸ˜Š
