Stats for the Day:

  • Sleep Score: 66
  • Duration: 8 hours, 35 minutes
  • VO2 Max: 53 (a new high for the month!)
  • Endurance Score: 6183
  • Distance: 4.05 km
  • Average Heart Rate: 137 BPM
  • Pace: 5:49 per km
  • Total Time: 23:33

🌧️ Thoughts on the Run

The plan was a progression tempo run, but heavy rain overnight and this morning made it tough to get started. I chose an easy base run instead: three laps around the island. Initially, I considered calling it quits after just one lap. But once I got used to the rain, it turned into a refreshing experience.

Shoe Test:

  • Gave my Salomon Sense Ride 5 another chance after a past blister incident.
  • The verdict? No blisters this time!
  • Key features I liked:
    • Quick-lace system for hassle-free tying.
    • Firm, responsive sole for better trail feedback.
    • Durability and solid grip, especially in wet conditions.

📈 Progress Check:
A fun comparison:

  • June 3rd Run: 6 km @ 6:00/km, 137 BPM
  • Today: 4 km @ 5:50/km, 137 BPM

Even with breaks in training, seeing progress like this is motivating. My comfort pace has improved by 10 seconds per kilometer—a small but rewarding step forward!

🔑 Takeaways & Tips:

  • Embrace Change: Rain or shine, use the conditions to switch up your mindset and routine.
  • Rotate Shoes: Having different pairs enhances variety and improves your overall experience.
  • Patience Pays: Running progress comes slowly, so be patient.

🎯 Mini Goal:
Keep chipping away at that VO2 Max—53 today, but let’s aim for 54 by month’s end! And a comfort base pace at 5:40/km by the end of the year
