Day 10: Building your personal Brand 🔥

Day 10: Building your personal Brand 🔥

Today’s run was another Garmin pre-defined base run, targeting a pace of 5:50 per kilometer. I managed to get a little closer to that today, hitting an average pace of 5:44 per kilometer. Initially, I had planned for a more intense “marathon tempo” run, but I felt a slight discomfort in my right groin. I decided not to push it and keep things light.

Reflections on Sharing My Journey
Now that I’m ten days into this running challenge—and consistently writing my thoughts each day—I’ve been considering what it would take to turn this effort into a lasting platform for endurance, nutrition, and self-improvement content. There’s a lot I want to offer in this space, and sharing these daily insights has shown me that this is something I enjoy and want to build on. The challenge, of course, is not just writing but also getting it out there.

I recently read Austin Kleon’s Show Your Work and learned the importance of building a personal brand by actively sharing your creative process, making it easier for others to find and be inspired by your work. In today’s world, success isn’t about waiting to be discovered—it’s about making yourself visible. I’ve never been particularly active on social media and even resisted social media in some ways, so the idea of diving in is a bit daunting. But if I want to grow a successful blog or newsletter, I know it’s something I have to work through.

Using My Network—Carefully
Leveraging my network would be the first logical step to start growing visibility. However, I’m a bit hesitant; there’s a feeling of vulnerability when you open up something new to people who know you well. Sometimes, involving too many people from your inner circle early on can create “noise” that can distract you from your goal. When I try something new, I like to keep it somewhat private until I gain a bit more confidence or clarity in my vision.

Building a Habit of Consistency
Much like running every day has started to become second nature, daily writing is beginning to feel more natural. Writing consistently creates a rhythm, and it’s helping me refine my thoughts, organize ideas, and build confidence in sharing my voice. Just as running requires a routine and a bit of grit, building a blog or brand demands consistency, planning, and a willingness to step out of my comfort zone.

Looking Ahead
My focus for now is to continue these daily posts throughout the month, getting more comfortable with the process, and finding my own rhythm and style. As I do, I’ll also start brainstorming how to generate traffic to my posts. The idea isn’t just to reach people but to hopefully inspire them with the same passion that drives me.

That’s it for today! Tomorrow, I’ll give the tempo run another shot. Here’s hoping my groin feels good enough for it. Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!
